Welcome to Charis! By creating an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. Please read them carefully.

Charis is a product of Anchor Digital LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). References to "Charis" or "the Service" refer to the Charis platform operated by Anchor Digital LLC.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Charis ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will post the updated Terms on this page with a new version number and effective date, and let you know the next time you sign in. Where a change needs your consent, we will ask for it before you continue, and you accept the current Terms each time you check out. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service; you may delete your account at any time.

2. Description of Service

Charis is a platform that enables users to create personalized digital gifts using AI-generated content. Core features include a personalized trivia game, an AI-assembled photo puzzle reveal, occasion moments made from your inputs, and a custom AI-generated song. The Service also offers thank-you bundles, gender reveal experiences, invitations with guest replies, Collected gifts to which other people contribute memories through a link, and Praying for You gifts built from prayers you write and Bible verses selected from public-domain translations. Recipients can reply, record a video message, save a gift to their own account, and share a song or a moment through a separate link. Users may also attach third-party gift card codes to their digital gifts and invite others to co-edit a gift. Our website is sendcharis.com; charis-gifts.com and trycharis.com are also ours and lead to the same Service.

3. User Accounts

You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating an account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account and make purchases. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

Account deletion: You may delete your account at any time from your account page ("Delete my account") or by contacting us through the Feedback option in the app. Self-serve deletion takes effect immediately; a request made by email is completed within 30 days of verification. In both cases the removal is subject to legal retention obligations (e.g., tax records) and to backup copies that age out on the schedule described in our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account permanently deletes the gifts you created, together with any replies, invitation responses, and contributed memories attached to them, and their recipients will no longer be able to open them. Gifts you saved as a recipient are simply unlinked from your account.

Free gifts and fair use: Free gifts cost us real generation work, so we limit how many free gifts an account can create in a day and in a rolling 30-day period. We may adjust these limits, and we may suspend accounts that create gifts by script or otherwise abuse the Service.

3a. Children & Parental Consent

The Service is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account, make a purchase, or build a gift. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it.

A gift you create may feature, or be intended for, a minor (for example, a child's photo in a photo-puzzle gift). If you upload, submit, or create content that depicts or is directed to a minor, you represent and warrant that you are the minor's parent or legal guardian, or that you have obtained the consent of the minor's parent or legal guardian, to provide that content and to create and share the gift. You are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining that consent, and we may rely on your representation without independently verifying it.

3b. Where Charis Is Available

Charis is offered only to people in the United States. By creating an account or making a purchase, you represent that you are located in the United States (including its territories) and that you are not a resident of, or located in, any country or region subject to comprehensive United States sanctions or trade restrictions. We do not sell to, or knowingly provide the Service to, buyers outside the United States, and we may decline or refund any purchase that appears to originate outside it. The Service is provided in English only.

This restriction applies to buying and building gifts. A gift you send can be opened by its recipient wherever they are: a gift link already sent will keep working abroad, and receiving a gift is not a purchase.

4. User Content & Acceptable Use

You are solely responsible for all content you provide to the Service, including names, photos, relationship details, custom messages, prayer requests, event details, memories you contribute to someone else's gift, and gift card codes. If you include sensitive details about another person (for example, health, family, or financial circumstances in a prayer request or a memory), you are responsible for having that person's permission, or another proper basis, to share them with the recipient.

You agree that you will not:

• Upload images of any person without their permission, or images of minors without parental/guardian consent;
• Create deepfakes, sexually explicit content, harassment, or non-consensual imagery of any person;
• Upload content that infringes copyright, trademark, publicity, or privacy rights you do not own or have a license to use;
• Use the Service to send threats, harassment, hate speech, or content targeting protected classes;
• Upload or share content that is defamatory, or that publishes another person's private information (such as a home address, phone number, or financial details) without their consent, or use the Service to send spam or bulk unsolicited messages;
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overwhelm, or otherwise abuse the Service or its underlying AI vendors;
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service.

Your representations. You represent and warrant that you own, or have obtained all rights, licenses, consents, and permissions necessary to upload and use, the content you provide (including all names, photographs, likenesses, messages, and other materials), and that your content and our permitted use of it do not and will not infringe or violate any third party's copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other rights. You are solely responsible for the content you upload, and Anchor Digital LLC is not liable for it. If you do not hold these rights, do not upload the content.

You grant Anchor Digital LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, transmit, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing, securing, and improving the Service. We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not authorize our AI vendors to use your content to train their models.

We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we believe, in our sole discretion, may expose us or our users to harm or legal risk.

4a. Copyright & DMCA Takedown

We respect intellectual-property rights and respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws. If you believe content on the Service infringes a copyright you own or control, send a written notice to our designated copyright agent at support@charis.gifts (subject line "DMCA Notice") including: (a) identification of the work claimed to be infringed; (b) identification of the allegedly infringing material and where it appears; (c) your contact information; (d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law; (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on its behalf; and (f) your physical or electronic signature. We will remove or disable access to material we determine, in our discretion, to be infringing, and we terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. You must not request or generate content that reproduces copyrighted lyrics, characters, or works, or that impersonates any real person, that you do not have the right to use.

5. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized content. While we strive to create appropriate and high-quality content, AI outputs may occasionally be inaccurate, biased, or otherwise not match your expectations. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content is provided “as is” without warranties.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, factual correctness, or suitability of AI outputs.
• AI outputs may reflect biases present in their training data; review all generated content before sharing it with a recipient.
• Pronunciation in songs. Sung vocals are synthesized. Pronunciation — particularly of names, nicknames, and places with uncommon spellings — may differ from how you say it, and we cannot guarantee any specific pronunciation. Listen to your song in the preview before you share the gift.
• You are responsible for reviewing the final gift before delivery.

5a. Photo Retention & Recipient Rights

• Photos uploaded for the Photo Puzzle module are stored only to deliver the gift to the recipient you specify.
• Original uploads are kept so the gift stays available for its access window, and are deleted after the gift's access window ends (within about 30 days of expiry), on request, or if the gift is deleted. Gifts with an unlimited keepsake window, and gifts that have never been opened (whose access window has not started), retain their assets until you delete the gift.
• A person depicted in a gift may request deletion of content depicting them by contacting us via the Feedback option. We will action verified requests within 7 days.
• We do not use uploaded photos to train AI models or perform biometric identification.

5b. Gift Review & Delivery Responsibility

Charis generates and hosts gift experiences, but it does not send gifts except at your direction (via the optional scheduled-send feature) and is not a party to the exchange between you and your recipient. You acknowledge and agree that:

• Review before sending: You are solely responsible for reviewing the complete gift — including all AI-generated content (trivia, images, songs, lyrics, and text) — in your preview before sharing the gift link with anyone.
• You deliver the gift by default: Sharing the gift link is your action. Charis does not transmit gifts to recipients on your behalf unless you use the optional scheduled-send feature, in which case Charis emails your gift link to the recipient email address you provide, at the time you choose, solely on your instruction (you may cancel a pending scheduled send at any time before it fires). In either case, Charis is not responsible for whether, when, or by whom a gift link is opened, nor for delivery failures caused by an incorrect or unmonitored email address you provide.
• No liability for shared content: Anchor Digital LLC shall not be liable for any content you approve and share, for misdirected or forwarded links, or for the conduct of recipients or anyone else who accesses a link you shared.

5c. Invitations, Contributed Memories, Co-editors, Saving & Sharing

• Invitations. An invitation is one link you share with your whole guest list. Anyone who has the link can view the invitation and reply; you are responsible for who you share it with. Guest replies (name, answer, party size, note) are shown to you and your co-editors only, never to other guests, and are deleted with the invitation.
• Contributed memories (Collected gifts). When you create a contribute link, anyone who has it can submit a memory and photos to your gift without an account. Nothing a contributor submits reaches the recipient until you approve it; you are the moderator and are responsible for what you approve. Contributors make the same content representations as you (Section 4) and grant the same license for what they submit; you may hide or remove any memory, and we may remove content that violates these Terms. A contribute link never opens the gift itself.
• Co-editors. You may invite other Charis accounts to edit a gift's content. Co-editors see and can change the gift's content, including its photos, invitation replies, and contributed memories, but cannot pay, change branding, delete the gift, or manage the editor list. Only you can remove a co-editor, and you remain responsible for the gift.
• Saving a gift ("Made for you"). A recipient may save a gift they received to their own account. This gives them no more than the link already does. We email you when a gift is saved, and you may unlink it at any time, which also blocks it from being saved again.
• Sharing a song or moment. A recipient may create a public link to the song or to a single moment of their gift. By sending a gift you agree that its recipient may share those parts this way; the personal note, gift card, and the rest of the gift are never included.

7. Payments & Refunds

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Prices are displayed before purchase and are subject to change. The Service delivers personalized digital content that is generated and made available to you immediately upon purchase. By completing a purchase, you request that we begin performance immediately, and you acknowledge the following:

• Fully rendered = non-refundable. Once your gift's content has been generated and/or the gift has been opened or otherwise unlocked, the Service has been fully rendered and the purchase is final and non-refundable.
• When you are charged. For paid gifts, your payment method is charged at checkout, when you complete your purchase. Gifts on a free tier are genuinely $0 and are not charged.
• Failed generation. If your gift fails to generate, or your gift link fails to function, due to a technical fault on our side, contact us at support@charis.gifts (or via the in-app Feedback option) and we will re-run the generation or, at our discretion, issue a refund or credit.
• Your inputs. Refunds are not provided for information you entered incorrectly (for example, a misspelled name, wrong recipient details, or a mistyped gift card code), for a change of mind, or because generated content did not match a subjective expectation. You are responsible for reviewing your gift before sharing it (see Section 5b).
• Chargebacks. Because the Service is a fully-rendered digital good, we may dispute chargebacks for delivered content and may suspend accounts that initiate fraudulent or bad-faith chargebacks.
• Statutory rights. Where consumer-protection law grants you rights for digital content (e.g., EU/UK), nothing here limits those rights; where permitted by law, by requesting immediate delivery you agree you lose any applicable right of withdrawal once delivery has begun.
• Discount and affiliate codes. A discount or affiliate code may be limited to a time window, to a number of uses, or to the account email it was issued to, and we may withdraw a code at any time before it is used.

Taxes. Prices shown may not include applicable sales, use, VAT, or similar taxes. You are responsible for any taxes associated with your purchase, and where we are required to collect tax, it will be added at checkout and remitted to the applicable authority.

7a. Affiliate Program

If we accept you into our affiliate program, you receive a link with a code and earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through it (currently 20 percent, unless we agree otherwise in writing). You must disclose your relationship with Charis wherever the law requires it, must not bid on our name in advertising or send spam, and must give us any tax information we need before we pay you. We may correct attribution for refunded or fraudulent purchases and may end the program or any link at any time. Any separate affiliate terms we provide control if they conflict with this section.

8. Intellectual Property & Ownership of Your Gift

The Service, including its design, features, software, and functionality, is owned by Anchor Digital LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the personal content you provide (your photos, names, messages, and details) but grant us the licenses described in Section 4.

Your generated gift. Subject to your payment and compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, worldwide license to view, download, and share the finished gift experience we generate for you (including its text, images, and song) for your own personal, non-commercial use — namely, giving it to your intended recipient. You may not resell the generated gift or use it for commercial purposes without our written permission. You acknowledge that automatically generated content may not be eligible for copyright protection and that we may generate similar content for other users.

Our use of generated gifts. We use the content you provide and the gifts we generate only to operate, secure, and support the Service, as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We do not publish, display, or reuse your personal gift content or the specific gift generated for you in our marketing or promotional materials without your separate, express consent.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Anchor Digital LLC and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any gift card codes you provide through the Service

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Alabama, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

Informal resolution first. If you have a dispute with us, please contact us at support@charis.gifts first so we can try to resolve it. We ask that you give us 30 days to work it out before starting a formal proceeding.

Venue. Except where prohibited by applicable law, you agree that any dispute not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state courts located in Shelby County, Alabama, or the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking relief in a small-claims court for disputes within that court's jurisdiction.

12a. Miscellaneous

• Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible (or, if necessary, severed), and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
• Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Anchor Digital LLC regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements on that subject.
• Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, provided your rights under them are preserved.
• No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
• Survival. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including your content representations and licenses (Section 4), disclaimers (Sections 5 and 8a), limitation of liability (Section 9), indemnification (Section 10), and dispute resolution (Section 12), survive termination of these Terms or your account.
• Force majeure. We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of third-party providers, natural disasters, or governmental action.
