Only for Reveal Gift and Keepsake Gift, because the puzzle reveal needs a meaningful image. Personal Quiz works without a photo.
Building one takes just a few minutes, you fill in a few details about your person and we handle the rest. Some pieces, like a custom song, generate in the background and can take a little longer; you'll preview everything and send it once it's ready, so there's no rush.
Absolutely. You get a full preview before sharing: edit the text, swap the photo, regenerate anything you don't love, and make sure it's right before they see it.
Easy: (1) buy a gift card from any retailer (Amazon, Target, Starbucks, etc.); (2) during your build, open the gift-card step and paste in the card code (plus the PIN if it has one); (3) set a secret question only the recipient would know. The code stays hidden behind that question until they answer correctly. Choose an answer your recipient knows and others are unlikely to guess. You can add or change the gift card anytime before you send.
It depends on the plan: a Personal Quiz stays live for 30 days, and a Reveal Gift or a Keepsake Gift never expires. The clock starts when your recipient first opens it, and you can upgrade a quiz to a paid plan anytime. You only pay the difference.
If your gift fails to generate or has a problem we can't fix, email support@charis.gifts and we'll either re-run it or refund you. Because each gift is custom-made content created just for your recipient, refunds aren't automatic once a gift has been delivered and viewed, but reach out, we want you to be happy with it.
Yes, behind the scenes we use AI to help craft parts of your gift (like trivia, song lyrics, and image styling) from the details you provide. AI is simply a tool here, a way for us to turn the words and memories you share into something personal for someone you love. The heart of the gift is always yours; the details you give us are used only to create it, never for anything else. And you preview and approve everything before it's sent.

All charges show up on your card as 'CHARIS GIFTS' or via Stripe. Receipts are emailed automatically from Stripe right after purchase. If you can't find yours, email support@charis.gifts with the date and last 4 of your card and we'll resend it.
