The song is what the Keepsake Gift tier adds. It is a full-length song written about the person and sung all the way through, built from the stories you type in while you make the gift. The lower tiers do not include it, and you can move up to it after you send by paying the difference.
The Quiz & Note tier is genuinely free. There is no checkout step, no payment method to enter, and nothing that expires into a bill. You get the trivia written about them, your note, and the slot for your own gift card. On a birthday it also includes the virtual cake they blow out.

No. They tap your link and it opens in any browser on any phone. There is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for. An account only comes up if they decide to save the gift to one, which is optional and entirely their choice.
